Although Emily Sossaman and Richard “Trey” Adams both attended high school in New Orleans and college at LSU, they didn’t officially meet until the Summer of 2020.

After Sunday brunch with her friends, Emily agreed to go for a boat ride with the girls. She hopped onto what happened to be Trey’s boat. After a fun-filled day, Trey and Emily became friends.

A couple months later, they were at brunch with friends and ran into each other again at Katie’s Restaurant. Trey and Emily winded up spending the rest of the day together. After a week or two, Trey asked Emily on a date for ice cream (smart man). They frequently hung out through mutual friends, Amy Magiera and Connor Pugh, and have been together ever since.

On July 30th, 2022, Trey arranged reservations for Brunch at Brennan’s Restaurant. While walking to brunch, Trey surprised Emily and proposed in front of the St. Louis Cathedral.
